Children

These days it seems kids spend their time in front of the television or computer. While neither of these are extremely bad they should be limited to a certain amount of time and other activities should be used to stimulate the child's mind.

Children activities should be fun as well as educational. Stacking and sorting colors, counting, and don't forget picking up after activities can be made fun by treating it as game while learning colors, numbers, words etc.

Preschoolers can learn their colors, numbers, and building by stacking colored cups, bowls, anything that will not harm them. A roll of plain paper and a box of crayons will introduce them to the world of art and open their imaginations.

Outside activities can include games such as duck duck goose for the younger kids. Softball, soccer, tag, tug of war, and more for older kids. Not only do these games promote team work they get kids active and teach them that winning isn't everything.

Board games for kids can include candy land, life, monopoly, and many more. Again, these games engage the mind learning how to take turns, using money (monopoly), and more.

Arts & crafts, for young kids safety scissors are a must. You can help the kids make decorations for holidays, picture frames to hang pictures on the fridge, and more. Older kids can decorate glass ornaments for Christmas, sun catchers, and other crafts. These activities unlock the Imagination and creative talents.

When it comes to pick up time, have kids count their toys as they pick them up and put them away. They can pick up by color, by size, whatever gets their mind working and the toys picked up and put away. They need to know they must pick up after themselves.
